The ventral mesentery disappears after embryonic development except for:
- Falciform ligament (middle of anterior liver) - stabilizes the liver
- Lesser omentum (stomach and liver)

- Mucosa

- Muscularis mucosae
- Submucosa
- Mucularis externa (inner is circular, outer is longitudinal)
- Serous / adventitia
